Mark Whalen

Mark serves as Chief Strategy Officer of Clinical & Network Services (CNS) for Ascension. CNS unites clinical and care excellence functions and subsidiaries that are core to Ascension’s healing Mission. Bringing these functions and subsidiaries together creates a unique opportunity to position Ascension for the future and to operate in a manner that transforms healthcare and proactively addresses the holistic needs of those we serve. He previously served as Vice President for Strategic Operations at Ascension Medical Group. In this role, Whalen partnered with local ministry medical group dyad leaders on operational and strategic priorities including growth and quality initiatives.

Prior to this role, Whalen was Vice President for Services and Implementation with Ascension Physician Services, where he was responsible for the deployment of a standard practice management platform, on boarding more than 7,000 providers across Ascension Medical Group.

He received his MBA from Washington University in St. Louis and BA from the University of Texas-Austin.
